The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Your Second Season Bingo Cards — With Some Positive Updates

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been intense.

The first season presents a large cast of characters residing in the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some fascinating origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a few fans make a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
